Dr. Viakinnou-Brinson is a Professor of French and Francophone Literatures, and the French Program Coordinator at Kennesaw State University, GA. https://radow.kennesaw.edu/wlc/index.php

Since arriving at KSU, she has taught all level French courses including, beginner, intermediate, advanced, literature and capstone Senior Seminar. She also directs the Maymester Africa/Europe Study Abroad trip to Benin (West Africa) and Aix-en-Provence (France), advises and mentors French and Sowers of Knowledge clubs’ officers as they organize events to promote francophone culture and engage in service activities that promote literacy and foreign language learning locally and internationally.

Her primary research area focuses on foreign language pedagogy, second language acquisition and project-based learning. Her secondary area of research focuses on questions of African trace, exile, and identity in francophone literatures. She has published in several journals including the Foreign Language Annals, the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign languages, the Foreign Language Association, and the Journal of Haitian Studies.

She is the founder of Seeds of Knowledge, Inc a 501(c3) non-profit organization committed to improving literacy and supporting education in rural and under-served areas of selected countries in Africa. https://www.seedsofknowledge.org/

She enjoys walking, cooking, traveling, entertaining and spending time with her extended and nuclear family, her husband, and her sons.
